"Huangshan Tunxi Airport" was renamed "Huangshan Tunxi International Airport."

Huangshan Tunxi International Airport is the second largest civilian airport and the second international airport  in Anhui Province.

Since 1989 to resume, it has opened up to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Fuzhou, Xiamen, Xi'an, Hefei, Kunming, Guilin, Chengdu, Chongqing, Wuhan, Qingdao, Changsha, Dalian, Taiyuan, Haikou, Hohhot, etc. 28 domestic routes as well as Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Japan and other regions, international routes and tourist charter flights, the total passenger throughput reached 7,647,800 passengers.

In the past three years, the Huangshan Airport Transportation increased steadily, entered a rapid development period. in the year 2012, the passenger throughput exceeded 50 million, it reachs to  552,000 passengers in 2013. and it is expected to reach 600,000 mark this year.

Following the 1987 renamed "Huangshan Tunxi Airport", the airport was renamed as "Huangshan Tunxi International Airport", it  means Huangshan City will build a modern international tourist city, it's an important step for promoting national demonstration Wannan International Cultural Tourism District, Huizhou cultural and ecological protection areas, a comprehensive reform of national services, as well as national main functional areas such as the construction of a pilot demonstration, it's a very important significance.
